The experience behind my work
My work has taken me from hospital clinics and university classrooms to laboratories, training sessions and race days. Each setting asks something different of me, but the challenge I enjoy is the same: making sense of the science and knowing how to put it to use.

Areas of Expertise
The main areas in which I bring science onto the field, into the kitchen and into real life…
Sports Nutrition & Performance
Nutrition that fits the demands of your sport, your training schedule and the life you lead around them..
Endurance Sports
From everyday training to the final kilometres of a race: fuelling, hydration and recovery strategies you can practise, refine and trust.
Gut Health and Microbiota
Getting to grips with digestive symptoms and finding ways to eat comfortably, both in everyday life and during exercise.
Female Athlete Nutrition
Making room for the needs that are too often overlooked: adequate fuelling, iron status, menstrual health and changes across life stages.
Energy Availability & Eating Behaviour
Looking closely at the relationship between training demands, food intake and eating patterns, particularly when health or performance begins to suffer.
Injury Recovery & Return to Sport
Your training may change during an injury, but nutrition still matters. Support for healing, maintaining muscle and meeting the demands of rehabilitation.
Evidence-Based Supplement Use
Is it useful? Is it safe? Is it worth taking? Clear advice on the evidence, the risks and whether a supplement makes sense for you..
Body Composition & Anthropometry
Precise measurements are only the beginning. Understanding what they mean for your sport, health and progress is where their value lies.

The best part? The people…
Llove the moment a complicated idea starts to make sense. Even better when someone asks a question that gets the whole room thinking.
Then there are the practical sessions: concentrating on a measurement, trying again, helping each other and celebrating when it finally clicks. Usually with plenty of laughter along the way.
Teaching gives me the chance to share what I know and learn from the people in front of me. These photos hold a few of my favourite moments with students and colleagues, and some very good memories.
